A free resume builder that runs entirely in your browser

ez-resume is a free resume, CV and cover letter builder with no account, no trial, no export paywall and no watermark. Type your details on the left, watch a typeset document render on the right, then download it as a PDF, Word (DOCX), Markdown or JSON file.

There is no server. The editor, the live preview, the PDF writer and the DOCX writer are all JavaScript running on your own machine, so your resume is never uploaded anywhere. It autosaves to this browser's local storage and exports straight to disk — you can disconnect from the network entirely and everything still works.

Frequently asked questions

Is ez-resume free?

Yes — completely. No account, no trial, no export paywall and no watermark. It is a static page running in your browser, so there are no per-user costs to recover.

Do I need to sign up?

No. There is no sign-up, login or email capture. Open the page and start typing.

Is my resume uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs on your device. Your resume autosaves to this browser's local storage and exports straight to disk — open the network tab and watch, or pull the plug and keep working.

What formats can I export to?

PDF, DOCX, Markdown and JSON, plus direct printing. The PDF keeps text selectable; the DOCX stays editable in Word.

Are the resumes ATS-friendly?

Several themes are built for it — Classic, Minimal, Compact and Meridian are single-column with conventional headings and selectable PDF text. The ATS guide covers what actually breaks parsers.

Can I edit a resume I made earlier?

Yes. Work autosaves in the browser, and every exported file embeds its own source data — so re-importing a PDF, DOCX, Markdown or JSON from here restores your exact content and design.

Can I build an academic CV too?

Yes. One-click sections cover Publications, Teaching, Research Experience, Conferences and Grants & Funding, and the document paginates to any length. See the CV builder guide.
